Dear Steve,
In close observation by reading your editorial opinion Ref.: Free Republic, "The Gauntlet is Thrown", it is obvious that you are one of the few people in the veteran movement, that is capable of "carrying the ball". One important thing that you might be forgetting is that our Congress (both houses) don’t give a rat’s rump about veterans, their families, and their survivors being robbed blind by the V.A., and their cohorts, the National Veterans Service Organizations (NVSOs). We, as veterans, and the American public, have been lied to, and cheated as well by the V.A. and their NVSO cohorts, and until we recognize this problem, and take effective steps to combat and eradicate the "Evil Empire", things will never change. It will only change, if we make it change with "PUBLIC AWARENESS".
Most people do not realize that the National Veterans Service Organizations, which have always been perceived as being as "American as apple pie", is one of the main motivating factors of disabled veterans being done out of their benefits and entitlements by a predatory V.A. The American public does not even begin to be aware that all these existing V.A. abuses, whether they be deplorable medical treatment at the V.A. hospitals, sleazy thieving V.A. rating boards that themselves bonuses to deny claims, and abandonment of a quarter of a million homeless vets, would never take place if veterans were entitled to REAL JUDICIAL REVIEW OF V.A. RATING BOARD DECISIONS. This, and only this, is the cause of 90% of the problems we, as veterans are encountering from the V.A.
The problem is not caused by the V.A. alone, although they precipitated the change in the laws that deprived the veteran of all his Constitutional and Civil rights, and placed us under USC Title 38, a poor substitute for the U.S. Constitution. (Ref: Veterans Benefits Improvement Act of 1940, Section 211(a), which is currently called 511(a)…. a prime example of the smoke and mirrors tactics used by our government).
The V.A., of course, shares the responsibility of this criminal conspiracy to do America’s disabled vets out of their benefits, together in cahoots with the National Veterans Service Organizations, who each "rake in" millions of dollars a year of V.A. "FREEBIES", which include FREE RENT IN GOVERNMENT BUILDINGS, FREE HEATING AND ELECTRICITY, FREE POSTAGE, FREE TELEPHONE, FREE STATIONERY, FREE FURNITURE, FREE COMPUTER EQUIPMENT, AND A TAX EXEMPT STATUS …. ALL AT TAXPAYER’S EXPENSE. AND WHAT IS THE PAYBACK TO MOTHER V.A. ???
When the VVSO Service Officer quasi-lawyers represent the veteran at their V.A. Benefits Hearing, only 4% of them will ever win on service-connected claims (a hidden quota). This is done with the complicity of our Congress, who are in accord with the thievery, and have passed laws which prevent veterans from retaining real attorneys from the onset of their claims at the V. A. regional offices (Ref: USC Title 38, Section 5904). Congress is only concerned with protecting the NVSO’s "hidden turf" and vested private interests.
THE SOLUTION: GO PUBLIC WITH THIS INFORMATION. ONE INDIVIDUAL CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. GO TO THE MEDIA. REFERENCE THE MEDIA AT YOUR PUBLIC LIBRARY IN THE 5 VOLUMES OF THE BURRELL’S MEDIA GUIDE. BRING THE TRUTH INTO THE MAINSTREAM OF AMERICAN LIFE. THE V.A. CANNOT EXIST AS IT IS. WITH THE DISINFECTANT OF THE BRIGHT LIGHTS OF MEDIA PUBLICITY. TALK TO EVERYBODY THAT YOU CAN. TALK, NOT ONLY TO FELLOW VETERANS, BUT TO THE AVERAGE MAN ON THE STREET. TALK AT EVERY PUBLIC PLACE THAT YOU CAN THINK OF. THE SUPER MARKETS, THE PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION, THE GAS STATIONS, THE BARBER SHOPS, THE DRUG STORES, THE BOWLING ALLEYS, SPORTING EVENTS, AND WHEREVER YOU COME IN CONTACT WITH PEOPLE.
LET AMERICA KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON WITH THE ABUSES OF THE V.A. AND THEIR COHORTS. IT’S THE BEST KEPT SECRET IN AMERICA. THIS SECRET IS WHAT GIVES OUR ADVERSARIES THE POWER. KEEP THEM IN SHARP PUBLIC FOCUS, AND DON’T LET ANYONE TELL YOU ITS ONLY ABOUT HEALTH CARE IN THE V.A. HOSPITALS, OR ONLY ABOUT AGENT ORANGE, OR ONLY ABOUT THE GULF SICKNESS …. ITS ABOUT THE LACK OF JUDICIAL REVIEW OF THE V.A. DECISIONS, AND LEGAL PARITY WITH THE REST OF OUR NATION FOR VETERANS. AND ITS ALSO ABOUT THE LOW ESTEEM THAT OUR GOVERNMENT AGENCIES, AND OUR ARROGANT ELECTED OFFICIALS HAVE, NOT ONLY FOR VETERANS, BUT FOR THE TAXPAYERS, THE AMERICAN PUBLIC.
Don’t expect any help from anyone in government. They only care about preserving the status quo, and their jobs. Forget the Justice Dept; they’re "tainted", and an integral part of the conspiracy. They will never do anything, except try to hinder you from effecting needed change. Their favorite words are allegations and alleges. Go on the assumption that everyone is "bought", and you will be more right than wrong. And above all … Have the courage of your convictions to go forward, because you are right. Please feel free to communicate with me on our crusade of legal parity for America’s veterans.
IF WE HAVE JUDICIAL REVIEW (THE RIGHT TO TAKE OUR GRIEVANCES WITH THE V.A. TO A "REAL COURT"), THEN WE HAVE EVERYTHING THAT WE HAVE STRIVED FOR IN THE WAY OF V.A. REFORM. WITHOUT IT, WE HAVE NOTHING. TO START WITH, VETERANS SHOULD BEGIN TO TARGET ALL MEMBERS, WITHOUT EXCEPTION, IN BOTH HOUSES OF CONGRESS, WHO SERVE ON THE VETERAN’S AFFAIRS COMMITTEES, TO BE "DUMPED" (VOTED OUT OF OFFICE) AT THE NEXT ELECTION. THIS WOULD BE A GREAT FIRST STEP TO SEND A MESSAGE TO OUR HATED ANTAGONISTS.
THE SECOND STEP WOULD BE … RECOGNIZE THE PITFALLS, AND RECOGNIZE YOUR ENEMIES, AND BE ABLE TO UTILIZE YOUR EFFORTS IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION TO EFFECT CHANGE. OUR ANSWERS LIE IN A DAY IN, AND DAY OUT CAMPAIGN WITH THE HELP OF THE MEDIA TO KEEP THE V.A. AND THEIR COHORTS CONSTANTLY IN THE NEWS, UNTIL THE PUBLIC BECOMES SO ANGRY, THAT THE LAWS WILL HAVE TO BE CHANGED. AT THAT POINT, CONGRESS WOULD NOT DARE ATTEMPT TO PROTECT THE V.A. AND THE NVSO’S ANYMORE.
"They hear our footsteps, and they know we’re coming". All we ask as veterans is …. LIBERTY, EQUALITY, AND FRATERNITY. We deserve no less.
